Thankful

After the the news today of the tragic school shooting in Conneticut, I couldn't get my babies home soon enough.  I just want to hold them tight and snuggle and play and do whatever they want to do.  I am so heartbroken for all of those families - I just can't even fathom.  And, quite honestly, I want to quit thinking about it.  I have been crying off and on all day and there is nothing I can do about it.  Nothing will bring those babies back and nothing will reverse the events that took place that led up to such a thing.  So, instead, I will get down on my knees and continue praying for all the families affected and pray thanksgiving for all that I have and all that I have been blessed with... I do have so much to be thankful for!

So, now - the girls are napping and Landon is "chilling", I have decided to catch up on the blog.  How fitting that after all of our Halloween pictures, (which is where I left off on the blog) the next photo is of Lucy's thanksgiving program at school.  It was the sweetest.  The children were broken up my grade her grade was dressed up as "aliens" aka Indians.  :)

Her grade sang, God is so Good, Praise Him Praise Him,  Thank you Lord for my Two Hands.  And it was the sweetest renditions of all of them....I teared up the whole program - even the grades without my kids!  A little ridiculous, I know!

Anyhow, Lucy did great!  And I am tearing up again after watching the video clips and looking at the pictures.  I just love this girl so much!!

And I love her daddy too!  :)

Happy Halloween 2012

As I am sitting here with the kiddos on the couch (all recovering from our sugar highs) I thought I would try to be somewhat productive and blog,  :)  Halloween is fast becoming one of my favorite holidays.  I don't know if it has to do with having kids who love it so much or the fact that you get your money's worth...we have been celebrating since the beginning of October with costumes, pumpkin patches, carving pumpkins, more parties, masquerade dinners, boo at the zoo, more parties, cookies, candy, parades and more parties!!  :)  Sound familiar to anyone!?  Throughout the month, the kids and I would do something "fall" such as painting pumpkins or making our own caramel apples.

We attended many Halloween parties, friend parties, school parties, fall festivals, etc.  lots and lots of them, so the majority of the month, my kids wore their costumes...

We went to the store set to buy fairies, but then Lucy saw the Wonder Woman costume and that was that. She tried it on and she looked too cute for me to tell her no.  So,I followed the trend with Lynlee and Super Woman.   Landon opted to be...can you guess it??

A chick magnet!!!  :)

We made sure to hit Boo at the Zoo where we ran into friends...

And finally as in a day ago, we carved our pumpkins...

Since we don't trick or treat at home, we haven't even lit them.  ha!  So we decided we would just light them the next few days regardless that Halloween is now over.  :)

For the actual day of Halloween, we made our way to Crestline. We have done this since we have lived in Birmingham and now that my sister lives over there, we have a home base.  Its so much fun over there, I'm not sure we'll ever do anything but.   Anyhow, to kick off trick or treating, there is is the annual parade at 4.  This parade is huge...seems like the first year we saw it, there was about 20 of us...now its packed!

Lynlee was enthralled.

Photobucket

and Lucy, Durham, and Landon meant business...

Sweet Mae...

Afterwards we hit the pavement for trick or treating.

And we make sure to do it in style...heres our ride

Beside trick or treating the houses are set up with haunted houses, photo ops, bands, dj's, a dance floor, etc.

First Feild Trip

A couple of weeks ago, Lucy went on her first feild trip ever.  She was so excited!  Her class was going to Old Baker Farm and, to top it off, we were riding over there with Evey!

Photobucket

Once there we got to pet all the farm animals and play on the big bails of hay...

  Photobucket

...had lunch in the barnyard followed by a hayride with friends...

  Photobucket

...we got to wander around the pumpkin patch, and Lucy indeed wandered...

1st Day of Pre-K

Whew- its cold outside.  The girls are snuggled up watching a movie so I thought I would take this opportunity to update the blog.  I'll have to back it up a couple of months for this one.  Landon started school in early August this year, which left a full month before the girls started school.  Luckily, we had a summer list that we were working on, so we slowly worked on that as August passed flew by.  However, after labor day, both girls had their first day of school.

I had put them on a waiting list at another school but after the summer passed without hearing anything, I resigned to the fact that they did not get in.  However, the Friday before school started, I got the phone call that Lucy had made it in.  I rushed over to fill out the paper work to reserve her spot.  And I left so happy for her and just knowing I would get the call that Lynlee got in too.  I never got that call.  So the girls are at different schools.  I was dreading it and even thinking of keeping Lynlee at home.  However, I quickly learned its not so bad.  Don't get me wrong...its not ideal, but I can manage.  :)

The school year is underway and I cannot be more happy with Lucy's school.  Her teachers are the best. She learns a bible verse a month, which I love!  She knows all her days of the week, months of the year, and can even recite the pledge of allegiance.  Maybe I am overreacting, but I was blown away by that one.  And Lynlee is doing just as well at her school, though she had rough start.  I guess for the first 3 days of school, she bit someone.  On that third day of biting, we were warned that if it happened again, she wouldhave to take a 1 week break from school or in other words get "suspended".  At least, thats how I put it to Landon.  He was appalled when I first told him that, wondering what in the world his 2 year old sister must have done to get "suspended".  And then he was very ammused learning the works of pre-school, and that biting is what leads to "suspension" in a 2 year old world!  lol   Anyway, she hasn't bitten anyone since so we were able to avoid all that drama.  The school year is going great and treating us all well, especially me, who enjoys a few hours to myself every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  :)   Life is good!

Seasise Diaries Part III

Something is up with my pictures...I don't know why they won't scale down to the blog but they won't and I sick of messing with it.  So here's my post with messed up pics.  :)

One of the best things about 30A is the food.  And one of my most favorite restaurants happens to be down there.  If you ever go to the area, I'll give you one guess.  :)

Photobucket

Red Bar  Every time I eat there, I swear its the best thing I've ever put in my mouth.

Photobucket

Both Ash and I had the fish, and really, I swear it is the best thing I've ever eaten!  :)  Then, besides the great food, there's the even better company...

I'm not sure there was as much talking as their was laughing.  I laughed until I cried. And a lot if it had to do with a cocktail named "Stinky Juice" aaannnd this video may have had a little to do with it too :)

oh.my.gosh.  I still die laughing every time I watch it.  (how old am I?? :))

Anyways...

Photobucket

You may can guess why our dinner was so funny, but I can't post pics really of why I laughed so hard, or they may not be my friend anymore, but it.was.funny!   I couldn't help but be slightly paranoid on what the other patrons that night were thinking of our crazy selves.  By the time we got back to the house, half of us were ready for bed, and the rest of us wanted to keep the party going.  which we did.  Too much fun to even remember to take any pictures, but I do happen to have this...

Photobucket

and this...

Photobucket

and that's all I can leave you with.  That and the fact that I have NEVER EVER laughed so hard.

After our late night, my three were ready to start the day. - bright and early!

So back to the beach we go...
