End of the School Year

Summer is in full swing around here and already flying by...too fast at that!  I can't believe we're almost in July.  Whew!  Well last month, the kids finished up the school year and I always like to see how much they've grown over the year.  So here it is, Landon on the first and last day of school...

Landon ended third grade with a stellar report card and thoughts of becoming a vegetarian.  His teacher (who was AWESOME) was a vegetarian and made quite the impression on Landon, so much that he has asked about maybe trying it.  I'm still maybe thinking about it.  :)

Here are the girls on their first and last days of school...

Obviously they both grew a ton throughout the school year.  Poor Lynlee had a rough start to pdo but pulled through and is a champ...especially at cleaning up.  You just start singing that song, and she drops whatever she's doing to put something away!  :)

And Lucy started the school with a little pdo experience under her belt.  She LOVES school!   And is already missing the routine of things.   Let's see Lucy can write her name and is pretty rocking at math herself...sure hope that will stick around!  :)  Her favorite colors are pink and purple and everyday for lunch she wanted pb crackers, grapes, yogurt, and cheese.  She could love off that meal.
ALL of her friends are boys and I guess she fits right in.  They all sit together for lunch...all the boys and Lucy!   Sure hope that doesn't stick around.  :)  lol
So, school year was a success and although I too miss having my kids having somewhat of a routine, I sure am enjoying our summer days together!!

Sunday Soccer

Some more catching up...  Back in April we signed Lucy up for Sunday soccer.  It was the same program Landon played in 6 years ago!!  Can't believe it had been that long because it seemed literally like just yesterday.  Everything was the same, location, feilds, shirts, etc, right down to the snowcone truck parked after the games.  Ahhh, sweet memories that now we have even more of with goosy!

So I really had no idea what to expect from Lucy and a sport.  I wasn't sure if she would enjoy playing, being dancing on the feild in oblivion or whining to sit out.  But to my surprise she was a competative little thing.  It took a time or two for another player (usually on her own team) to steal the ball from her before she had enough of that and started battling for the ball.  She was awesome and ended up scoring 3 or 4 goals.  This was the first game.

Two things that impressed me a lot were the fact that she knew to look up while kicking the ball so she could aim for the goal and she knew which goal to run towards.

By about the fourth game she was kinda done with the whole thing and ended up resorting to the dancing on the feild...ha!!  That and asking about her snow cone before we even got the feilds to play.  :)  We had a blast watching her and can't wait for another season!!
