First Feild Trip

A couple of weeks ago, Lucy went on her first feild trip ever.  She was so excited!  Her class was going to Old Baker Farm and, to top it off, we were riding over there with Evey!

Once there we got to pet all the farm animals and play on the big bails of hay...

1st Day of Pre-K

Whew- its cold outside.  The girls are snuggled up watching a movie so I thought I would take this opportunity to update the blog.  I'll have to back it up a couple of months for this one.  Landon started school in early August this year, which left a full month before the girls started school.  Luckily, we had a summer list that we were working on, so we slowly worked on that as August passed flew by.  However, after labor day, both girls had their first day of school.

I had put them on a waiting list at another school but after the summer passed without hearing anything, I resigned to the fact that they did not get in.  However, the Friday before school started, I got the phone call that Lucy had made it in.  I rushed over to fill out the paper work to reserve her spot.  And I left so happy for her and just knowing I would get the call that Lynlee got in too.  I never got that call.  So the girls are at different schools.  I was dreading it and even thinking of keeping Lynlee at home.  However, I quickly learned its not so bad.  Don't get me wrong...its not ideal, but I can manage.  :)

The school year is underway and I cannot be more happy with Lucy's school.  Her teachers are the best. She learns a bible verse a month, which I love!  She knows all her days of the week, months of the year, and can even recite the pledge of allegiance.  Maybe I am overreacting, but I was blown away by that one.  And Lynlee is doing just as well at her school, though she had rough start.  I guess for the first 3 days of school, she bit someone.  On that third day of biting, we were warned that if it happened again, she wouldhave to take a 1 week break from school or in other words get "suspended".  At least, thats how I put it to Landon.  He was appalled when I first told him that, wondering what in the world his 2 year old sister must have done to get "suspended".  And then he was very ammused learning the works of pre-school, and that biting is what leads to "suspension" in a 2 year old world!  lol   Anyway, she hasn't bitten anyone since so we were able to avoid all that drama.  The school year is going great and treating us all well, especially me, who enjoys a few hours to myself every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  :)   Life is good!
