Well, I think I have finally caught the blog up to summer...more or less. Our summer has gone by at lightning speed! I can't believe August is creeping around the corner. So, now I'll get to the task of catching up from the summer. Where to start? Well, A LOT of our summer has been traveling all over the southeast to lacrosse tournaments. I can't remember if I have bragged yet, so be warned I'm about too. If that makes you roll your eyes a bit, you may want to skip this next part. :) Anyhow, Landon played the regular season at U9 level meaning all the players were under 9 years of age by a certain cutoff date. Midway through that season, Landon was asked to tryout for the Bamalax U11 team. Now, Bamalax is a competitive team that you have to try out for and kids all over the city, not just our little area, compete to get a spot on the team.
So, I asked Landon if he would like to try out which he answered with a big ole yes!. On the days leading up to the try outs, I kept warning and at the same time reassuring him, that these boys were older, bigger, and had more expeirence and that he might not make the team. He was cool with that. I also let him know he might not get the position he wanted. He was cool with that too. So, he tried out...
...and made it!! Here he is all laxed out! :)
Landon is the youngest on the team by a year and holds his own. There have been several games where he really stands out on this team too! I'm so proud of him!
And although, the traveling was pretty draining, we all love to watch him play. In fact, he is up in Chatanooga this week for his last tournament of the season. So here's to you Landon...way to go big boy!
