Okay, I am a week late posting this, but I just can't pass it up. I celebrated my birthday last Friday with a snowday. It is such a rare event for it to snow in Alabama, but even more unusual for it to stick, and then to have enough snow stick to play in is unheard off. But never say never. After days of warning from the weathermen, we saw the first flakes fall. And they continued to fall for most of the day and blanketed everything in the fluffy white stuff.
Landon had a half day at school and Ash had a half day of work. So, the minute everyone got home, we bundled up and headed outside. Ash and Landon have a boys ski trip coming up so the two of them had all the gear they needed; ski bibs, gortex jackets, wasterproof gloves, snow boots, hats, etc.
I had enough to get by with. But poor Lucy, we had to scrounge and make due with the "winter" clothes she has. She was so bundled up with layers, she could barely move. But that didn't stop her.
And Landon was full force until the sun set that night.
Did I mention, Ashley had as much fun as anyone!!??
The sunset that evening was breathtaking. (the pciture doesn't do it justice)
That day and night everything seemed absolutely perfect in my little world.
And though, we had a great weekend playing in the snow and enjoying Valentines Day, I cannot wait for Spring and its warmer weather to get here. I do believe the weather channel is calling for 60 degrees this weekend...here's to hoping!!!
Great family pictures-- and you look beautiful in that last picture!
